Perhaps its a bit of asinine nostalgia for childhood toys, or Creature of the Black Lagoon - or both, but I've always wanted to do a jut out using View-Master slides. A few years ago, I even did some investigating to discover that you can indeed get custom made reels.

Well, someone else who has nostalgia issues combined the wounding edge View Master technologies of the 70s with the cutting advantage animated .gif technologies of the 90s to create something that is truly new and retro at the same leisure. By rotating back and fourth between two scanned images from old viewmaster slides, Brian Butler has created an patently viewable online 3D image:
